The BookViral Review:

A taut and plausible Medical Thriller Doctor Lucifer is sure to keep readers on tenterhooks throughout. And with more than enough unexpected plot twists to keep their attention as they find themselves drawn into the ensuing drama.

The immaculately crafted Doctor Lucifer is a virtual scrapbook of the genre’s best tropes, but no less enjoyable for being so familiar. Benefitting from first-class writing and following the protocols of all good medical thrillers it evolves at a cracking pace.

With a stylish narrative that sets the tone for Lee’s series, he’s not one to give anything away. Weaving clever narrative threads with a pressure cooker plot and a superb ensemble of well-nuanced characters he has a flair for this sort of smart, unpretentious writing.

First among Lee’s characters is his protagonist Dr. Mark Lin and through him, Doctor Lucifer quickly generates the kind of edge-of-your-seat intrigue that keeps one glued to the words and the pages turning. Efficiently accumulating a sense of peril, daunting incidents and stark images as tightly focused scenes propel Lee’s thriller forward.

With these nicely capturing the little quirks in typical conversation and the spontaneous declarations you might expect from a doctor of Dr Lin’s standing we find ourselves immersed in a fight against time to identify Doctor Lucifer and stop him from murdering anymore of Dr. Lin’s patients.

Creating a blood-chilling scenario which is disturbingly realistic Lee’s Doctor Lucifer tunes into our fears of the sick and twisted things we can’t see. Benefiting from Lee’s extensive background in clinical medicine and health technology assessment it’s chockablock with technobabble and medical jargon but it doesn’t alienate the average reader.

Powerful and highly entertaining Doctor Lucifer proves a riveting read and is sure to meet with approval from fans of the genre. A five-star read and a superb start to Lee’s Dr. Mark Lin Medical Thriller series it is highly recommended.
