SUMMARY: An amazingly true story that captures the heart as it moves us from laughter to tears and teaches us to believe in the power of love. This is a story of one dog’s ability to love unconditionally and maintain her courage through periods of uncertainty.

The BookViral Review:

Enchanting in its simplicity yet undeniable in its depth Everybody Loves Grace proves a beguiling story that draws its magic from the relationship between humans and the dogs that have captured our hearts.

With its muted colour palette and Susan Lavalley’s classic illustrations, Grace’s story is one that will linger in your thoughts long after the last page is turned whilst Katy McQuaid’s prose make it a book that is especially fun to read out loud.

Canine tales prove ever-popular and Everybody Loves Grace is perfectly pitched for McQuaid’s young audience. It’s quirky, fun and genuinely captivating. More importantly, Grace’s story is a life lesson that teaches children that change is not to be feared whilst helping them develop positive social skills and reflect on what it means to be kind and empathic towards others.

In the hands of another author Grace’s story might have been little more than a sentimental IV drip. Steadily manipulating heartstrings without ever quite touching anything like true life but McQuaid gives us something that is not only smart but more importantly realistic.

Capturing many of the highlights of human-canine relations at their warmest and most affectionate McQuaid reminds us of the incredible and unbreakable bond many of us have had the privilege of experiencing. Notably hitting the keynotes but without being overly saccharine.

A wonderfully timeless and heart-warming story, Everybody Loves Grace proves a magical start to McQuaid’s series and is unreservedly recommended.

Dealing With Rejection For Authors

As writers, we knowingly place ourselves in a position where we will undoubtedly face more rejection than the average person and it seems to me that how we handle that part of the creative process is often key to our success.
