The aim of any romance novel should be to let readers fall in love with love and both narratively and stylistically Goree achieves this by creating meaningful conflict, believable characters and a prevailing sense of emotional honesty that brings her characters to life. Not only are Logan and Grace likeable they are easy to cheer for whilst a liberal smattering of misdirection keeps us guessing till the very end!

It’s fair to say that Meet Me Where the Windrush Flows doesn’t follow a predictable plot and is all the better for it. There are no empty fillers to distract us and Goree’s earnest observations on love, faith and family are wonderfully captured in the contemporary textures of Cotswold life. Albeit it with a murderer lingering in the shadows!
