A compelling sky-war pageant of a novel The Eagle and The Empire proves a superb read that gives us so much more than a rousingly simplistic, patriotic aerial bloodbath.

The BookViral Review:
With historical romance proving ever popular Landon weaves a delightfully spirited tale that courts intrigue as she lovingly resurrects her bygone era with an infallible eye for detail.
Autumn’s Wild Heart doesn’t have a particularly complex plot but it doesn’t need one as Landon’s forte is in finding the perfect balance between blossoming romance and heart rending indecision coupled with superb character development.
There’s all the drama and sensibilities expected of fine historical romance with a sprightly narrative and richly layered detail that creates a genuine sense of time and place. But what makes her tale most notable is her unerring ability to delve into the minds of her characters who she vividly brings to life.
On this level, she’s penned more than a captivatingly voyeuristic novel. It’s piquant and playful as she puts us in touch with the battle of emotions raging in Nella and James. We know what we want to happen – what must happen, given the conventions of the time but London society seems arrayed against them – not through prejudice, but through inhibition, hateful ground rules and more than a little ill-will in the form of Lady Blanche. A character with no redeemable qualities who’ll do her utmost to get the man she wants!
Cheeky in its approach, spirited and splendidly written Autumn’s Wild Heart proves a must-read for fans of Victorian Historical Romance and is recommended without reservation!
A compelling sky-war pageant of a novel The Eagle and The Empire proves a superb read that gives us so much more than a rousingly simplistic, patriotic aerial bloodbath.
See A Witch About A Curse certainly has all the ingredients required to pique the curiosity of its target audience but whereas most YA offerings omit (relatively) complex motifs and themes in favour of building tangible relationships between good-looking clothe horses, Hussain gets the balance just right.
Is anything ever again like your ‘first love’? The trembling hands, the beating heart, the breathless anticipation-in short, the culmination of all you ever saw and heard and felt about love?
History and present day testifies to the struggles women face and have faced to earn what should be the natural right of all humankind – fairness.
Pitching the rhetoric at just the right point between the believable and the unbelievable compels the reader to continue, and forces them to ponder on possible political realities of the future.
