The BookViral Review:
With the releases of Horsemen Riding and Brides Of War Albert Scott has been delighting his readers with a smorgasbord of apocalyptic dark urban fantasy and his new release Calamity of the Gods proves another highly entertaining release.
Scott’s other titles have been notable for their deftly drawn, substantive and vivid characters and it’s fair to say that Calamity Of The Gods once more finds him on top form.
Consistently surprising and stuffed to the gills with wild plot devices protagonist Adrian Gray (War Child) is certainly in a class of his own with his efforts to appease an ever-growing cadre of gods and demonic incarnations always delightfully gruesome and grin-inducing.
With two books behind him, Scott has created a host of complex and richly developed relationships that span Nordic myth and Ancient Egyptian deities to the legendary mythical figure of Wukong. No mean feat for any author but one that Scott clearly revels in and to which he has added his own particular slant to make our current obsession with mythology even cooler!
With Kar’ma back and seemingly set on freeing the Calamities Adrian and his ever-faithful wives may have gained a favour from the Dominess but claiming it proves to be their most challenging quest to date with the Gods of old preparing for all-out war if the War Child fails to find the stolen celestial artefacts.
Another highly entertaining release from Scott and a strong addition to his Broken Revelations series Calamity of the Gods is highly recommended!
