The BookViral Review: Genre – Children’s Values Books
Being kind to people is an ever-popular theme in children’s books and stories like Flying With Kindness certainly deserve their place in the themed children’s books genre. Indeed, if you ask parents which value they above all want to teach their children kindness will invariably be at the top. Kindness connects and enriches our lives and this gem of a read from Eric Simmons is perfectly pitched at young readers who are beginning to learn the value of being kind to others. A book that is especially fun to read out loud, the illustrations are delightful, whilst the prose is heartfelt and honest with the message Simmons conveys being both sensitive and perfectly pitched for his young audience. It’s quirky, fun and genuinely enchanting. More importantly, Basil’s story is a life lesson that encourages children to develop positive social skills with fantastic talking points to discuss what it means to be kind, and empathic towards others.
A wonderfully heartwarming story which is perfect for bedtime reading, Flying With Kindness is highly recommended.

As the years advance, I have lost count of how many books I’ve read but on reflection, it hardly seems relevant. What is truly noteworthy is how many leave a lasting impression on us.
