So close, in fact, that they have captured John Taylor, Lucas’ brilliant father. In order to get his father back, Lucas must do their dirty work. Five brutal, death-defying missions and they will release him. Or so they say. Good thing he has AVA on board… otherwise, he would be toast.

For readers gripped by the thrilling suspense and futuristic drama of Larry Buenafe’s dystopian super hero fantasy series Singular, Forever will come as a welcome release. Young Lucas Taylor is back with life becoming considerably more dangerous. Still in a state of change as the Nanotechnology that rebuilt him continues to make modifications to his new body whilst his father remains a hostage of the US and a forced alliance with Bright Hand is proving hard to trust.
As with book one in the series, Forever is everything that a YA Superhero novel should be. It’s action-packed, all but impossible to put down, fast-paced and plot twists aplenty so readers don’t get too comfortable in their seats! More importantly, it’s original. There’s a host of interesting military technology which feels tantalizingly real and with AVA guiding Lucas from within there’s plenty of tongue in cheek humour too. But novels like these would be nothing without strong characters and this is where Buenafe continues to excel. His dialogue is always spot on and the relationships he builds between them makes us care about them.
With another cliff hanger ending and a surprising reveal, Forever takes Buenafe’s series to the next level and is highly recommended.
