The BookViral Review:

A finely tuned science fiction thriller with cleverly orchestrated twists that add up to a highly entertaining read Framandi Alliance might be a debut novel for Rashid Ahmed but it has all the hallmarks and panache of a first-rate bestseller.

Quick to gather momentum Ahmed’s plot is intelligent and suspenseful without the burden of unnecessary complexity whilst seamlessly integrated futuristic weaponry and technology adds a sense of authenticity.

Far too many Science Fiction novels are long in the telling, with overly complicated plots and in this respect, Ahmed has pitched Framandi Alliance just right. Creating a vivid sense of time and place whilst managing to engage our imagination to the fullest.

As is most often the case with Science Fiction novels, it’s the journey that matters more than the destination and it’s certainly true of Ahmed’s novel. Yes, the familiar genre tropes are evident but he never allows them to spiral into undeserved sentiment.

Characters are well nuanced and multi-layered whilst first contact and combat scenes are ingeniously crafted without being repetitious. Whilst his take on A.I. is simply one of the best you will come across in contemporary fiction as he explores the implications and consequences of integrating alien artefacts and the future implications for humankind.

Original adrenaline-fuelled storytelling Ahmed brings a vibrant new voice to the science fiction genre and Framandi Alliance is recommended without reservation!

The Occult -why the fascination with dark fiction?

While the occult is a broad umbrella, hiding its many forms under its silky black folds, it’s concepts have endured through time, enjoying many a resurgence through the ages. The term ‘occultism’, is relatively new, not used in French or English literature, for instance, until the 19th Century, although the term ‘occult sciences’ was commonly used in the 16th Century to describe practices such as astrology, alchemy, mysticism, and natural magic.
