Highly Entertaining and thought-provoking, The Price Of Rebellion proves a poignant lilt on the ways technology connects us to the world, but can also isolate us with Bland posing some intriguing questions about currently evolving technology.

It’s fair to say that the majority of Dystopian Science Fiction novels tend to be more than a little clichéd but Bland has imagined a future that goes beyond the typical doom and gloom. The technology feels tantalizingly close as momentum builds and he continues to disarm us with the realization that his fictional dystopian scenario may not be too far away from our present reality.

On this level Bland gives us a darkly thrilling and accomplished story steeped in Orwellian overtures and as with Book 1 in The Price Of Trilogy (The Price Of Safety) his plot is well construed and the pacing of his narrative is relentless with superb action sequences that all but jump of the page!

It takes talent to create something engrossing and new in an established genre and Bland is never at a loss for surprises as events rapidly evolve in tightly focused chapters that take us to the crux of his story. These quickly spiral into a very dark place, in a narrative that is at once exhilarating, tense, and a totally read-at-a-sitting page-turner!

With the majority of dystopian thrillers centring on protagonists who are overly masochistic, Bland breaks the mould with Dray Quintero. He’s an intelligent lead with real values and through him Bland evokes a strong sense of place, moral choices, immoral certainties and human nature as he battles The Agency’s augmented agents in a race to liberate Americans from an illusion that effectively controls what they see and react to.

A powerful science fiction dystopian thriller that doesn’t skimp on the action The Price Of Rebellion is a superb sequel to The Price Of Safety and is sure to leave its readers eagerly awaiting Book Three. It is unreservedly recommended!
