The BookViral Review:

For readers who enjoy memoirs about resilience, Maureen Wingham’s life story should find universal appeal. But don’t expect a saccharin read because it’s far from it. Faced with both the trauma of an abusive first marriage and a drunken business partner Wingham’s story represents the struggle of balancing personal and work lives in pursuit of our goals.

Refusing to sacrifice her professional life in advertising and PR she embodies the resilience and ambition of self-driven women the world over whilst never losing sight of her personal values. On this level alone she gives us an intimate memoir deserving of our attention but in baring her emotional wounds and vulnerabilities she gives us the authenticity that readers have come to demand.

A far cry from the kiss-and-tell memoirs of dubious celebrity memoirs Wingham’s journey feels true to life and it’s the raw honesty with which she writes that will strike a chord with many of her readers.

There is a wry. sometimes self-deprecating touch to her prose and some parts feel decidedly voyeuristic as though we have been given the chance to rifle through a very personal diary. One that charts her early relationship to singer-songwriter Michael Eaton to their eventual marriage and beyond his death as Wingham faces and overcomes tragedy and adversity

A highly engaging memoir with a hint of more to come Another  Look At Life is a cut above the majority of pedestrian memoirs finding their way into print and is unreservedly recommended.
