There are lots of okay books in the fantasy genre, but for the majority, they are stories lacking in coherent plots with puzzles that rarely get solved to the readers’ satisfaction and to his credit Bobb gives us much more than this with plot threads that weave together to deliver a mesmerising blend of magical intrigue and high adventure.

With an emotional core, it wears on its sleeve, The Eye Of Illusion conjures its own type of fantasy magic that proudly stands apart from other fantasy novels. It’s a heartfelt story with enchanting characters and in reading it we are reminded that the best Fantasy novels are the ones where ideas have no limits and the imagination is free to roam.

On this level, the sheer scope of Bobb’s Tales Told by a Tinker series is impossible to ignore with Bobb investing much attention in creating a unique world and magical order where the sense of fun in exploring it is infectious and never slacks in its efforts to wow us.

Furthermore, readers won’t find trite clichés or mistake sentimentalism for emotional depth. Bobb’s built a number of enthralling backstories in The Tinker The Mage & The Princess and in The Eye Of Illusion readers won’t find an instance of padding or an eye-glazing moment of self-indulgence on Bobb’s part. Just a timeless story of magic rooted in an eclectic group of superb characters in which readers will find themselves readily invested.

Swan, Nathan, Jason, and Princess Jennifer are back in their key roles and there are new characters too with a deep sense of camaraderie and Bobb determined to activate the imagination of every single one of his readers.
