The BookViral Review:

A hugely enjoyable time romp, Time In Your Hands is the debut novel from author James Baldwin and it really is a little different.

A short but wholly original tale of time travel, Baldwin has delivered a narrative that is beguiling in its simplicity, yet rich in detail and sure to capture the imaginations of all who turn its pages.

He certainly has a natural flair for these tales as he conjures up a cracking cast of vivid and immediately endearing characters. Confidently weaving a plot that is nicely composed between suspense and levity.

Beyond inventiveness, Baldwin is always careful to bring the human element of his tale to the fore. Encouraging his readers to delve beneath the veneer of a simply enjoyable romp to explore the more serious literary themes of reality, perception, identity and the unintended consequences of good deeds. Altogether, it makes for a fine story that sidesteps predictability and makes for a cracking good read.

Meanwhile, the warmth of Baldwin’s characters makes Time In Your Hands surprisingly tender and if you allow yourself to think for one moment of the paradoxes and contradictions of those you have loved ageing whilst you don’t it’s hard not to get a little choked up.

An undeniably fun and engaging read, Time In Your Hands will certainly pique your interest and leave its readers wanting more. Raising high expectations of future releases from author James Baldwin it is certainly recommended!
