The BookViral Review:

Sensational sex and its consequences make for red-hot snippets of deviance and intrigue in Not in the Game with Tolomei taking us even deeper into Cecilia Hurst’s Game of Masters and Slaves.

A scorching, graphically described tale, Tolomei certainly plays to the best of eroticism but aspires to more as she weaves together a narrative that nicely contrasts the personas of her leading characters, Prince Duncan Caldwell, Ylianor Meyer and Lord Christopher Templeton.

Tolomei doesn’t pump up her plot with recycled manufactured thrills, it excites the emotions in the way a good erotic novel arch should, but it also stirs deep and darker feelings associated with surrender when like-minded adults explore the boundaries of their desires.

It’s graphic, the suspense nearly unbearable at times, as Tolomei adds tension through the devices of smart dialogue and cleverly nuanced settings which repeatedly succeed in hijacking readers expectations. And just when you think you’ve got the plot pinned for being predictable, she turns it around to keep you on the edge of your seat!

In a genre that more often than not favours graphic detail over the elements of good writing, it’s certainly refreshing to find an author like Tolomei who consistently delivers on both scores. Adding another level to Tolomei’s Virtus Saga, Not in the Game is definitely recommended!
