The BookViral Review:
An engaging and thought-provoking mindfulness journal penned by Santosh Nambiar, ‘The Art of Conscious Balance: Breaking Free From your Conditioned Self’ is an enlightening foray into the world beyond that constructed by society and its expectations.
Nambiar takes us full circle in his intensely personal account of freedom and realisation, as he delves deeply into the human psyche and consciousness. From his beautifully described innocent childhood right through to the simple clarity of conscious living, he supports his reader’s journey as they are encouraged to look inwards and contemplate their own reality and its construction.
‘The Art of Conscious Balance’ expertly creates a division between conditioning and consciousness, explaining that rather than being swept along on a tide of convention and past experience, which results in mind domination, stress and overthinking, ‘universal intelligence’, a process of full and present awareness, can allow a balance between intellect and intelligence, thus freeing the mind to achieve clarity and operate more efficiently.
Nambiar leads his audience, with his own journey as an example, through a process of becoming fully aware by accepting thoughts without judgement, dwelling in space, and focusing on the breath, to achieve mastery over life’s accumulated baggage and the external pressure of being successful in other’s eyes.
Although mindfulness is dealt with in many ‘self-help’ books, Nambiar’s offering is extremely clear; his obvious talent for plain speaking renders his words accessible to all. Nevertheless, there are some exquisitely written passages within these pages, which lift his writing from monotonous to dazzling, and persuade his reader that living with conscious awareness really will set them on a better, balanced, more peaceful path.
Superbly and honestly written, ‘The Art of Conscious Balance: Breaking Free From Your Conditioned Self’ is firmly recommended.
