The BookViral Review:
Chock a block with romance, adventure and the obligatory ‘baddies’, ‘The Castle of Troubled Souls Hotel’ ticks all the boxes for a relaxing read.
Joann is a 25-year-old singleton who holds a 45% share in a Hotel inherited from her father who passed away when she was young. Despite having made the Hotel a resounding success with her business partners, things take a sharp turn when they sell out to rakish-looking Garrett Fereday.
As their relationship deepens, Joann begins to harbour secret feelings towards her new business partner, but the plot thickens as more characters become embroiled in their lives, leading to some surprising conclusions, great danger, a treasure map and a ghost or two added for good measure!
Barlowe keeps us guessing throughout, as implications from the past catch up with an increasingly bewildered Joann, who finds that all that glitters is not gold, and both physical and metaphorical treasure can be found hidden in plain view.
The Castle of Troubled Souls Hote takes us deep into the Cornish Countryside as the plot unfolds, with some arresting imagery and description, creating a solid backdrop against which the mystery plays out. With some obvious conflict creating disaccord between the protagonist and the key characters, one might assume that the dangers are obvious, but ultimately the real threat springs from a rather more surprising place, culminating in a fast-paced and exciting conclusion, and the realisation that the troubled souls are rather more solid than the apparitions we might imagine.
An immersive and recommended read for discerning fans of mystery and romance. This feisty tale will not disappoint.

A book comprising of the ‘Facebook Blog’ meanderings of Bridgette Campbell, Denham Hall is an amusingly wry observation of the upper class, seen through the eyes of an oestrogen-fuelled pubescent teen. A tale of English snobbery at its best, this collection of mini-stories makes for a refreshingly unique tongue-in-cheek read.
You don’t have to be a romantic to believe in broken hearts and yet heartbreak is an intrinsic part of the romantic cycle.
The best you can bring to the reading adventure is your imagination, sense of humor, and your love of reading. Playing with a child with ASD can be enjoyable and enlightening. That playtime is also fertile ground for planting the seeds of reading.
It is estimated that there are approximately 4,300 religions in the world. Even then, the concept of religion itself is hard to understand – in some people’s eyes synonymous with spirituality, and in others largely a vehicle for control.
There are a number of essential techniques an author must master if they ever want to top a bestsellers list and none more so than the ability to deliver genuine suspense.
