The BookViral Review:
Just when you thought Horror Fiction had nothing new to offer (given the vast number of thinly recycled stories being released), along comes Wraith — which transcends the genre norm with a clever, thought-provoking approach to a worn-out concept.
A delightfully dark revenge fest that comfortably sits between righteous delight and quivering revulsion Bolton gives his readers a kinetic, adrenalized feast for the psyche that’s bursting with startling images that keeps you reading when you’d rather not!
There’s a misconception in publishing these days that Horror fiction readers must be distracted by nonstop shocks or action but reads like these often prove thin and shallow and Bolton seems acutely aware of this. He certainly doesn’t skimp on the shocks or action. It’s clearly one of his fortes. Every action scene contributes, and Wraith rapidly builds momentum as it marches from page to page with vivid action snapshots. But with it, Bolton captures the highly charged emotions of his characters to make them feel wholly authentic amongst the shocking flashes of gore.
Whilst far too many horror novels lack subtlety and anything even remotely resembling credibility, Bolton’s not afraid to spend time in the still darkness with Warren and likes to focus on small moody elements as he takes us into some uncomfortably nasty places as Warren contemplates his revenge.
On this level Wraith is an unrelenting read with cunning, unexpected twists in a plot that’s so sharply and boldly laid out that its narrative shocks rule the day but Wraith is not just about narrative it’s about style too and here once again Bolton delivers in spades.
It’s rare that a novel leaves you glued to your seat, wanting to read it again, but Wraith is certainly one of them with Bolton delivering a superbly crafted Horror novel with bite! A five-star page-turner it is unreservedly recommended!

It’s a novel that rightly deserves your full attention with Alsadah achieving pitch-perfect balance between narrative and style. A read that is refreshingly devoid of archetypical characters whilst creating intricate shifts in perspective which are sure to engender much consideration.
