The BookViral Review:
Writing with confessed bias, Mike Joyner continues his commentary on life, humankind, and the inevitable moral and ethical differences which separate one from another.
Having existed for nearly 60 years, Joyner, like most other individuals, has been shaped by childhood, origin, circumstance, and his own cognitive deliberations. Vocalising his own firmly entrenched views with reasoning and rationale, he makes no apology for his stance, an approach which results in a forthright and straight-talking delivery. Whilst this may not sit comfortably with some, the more open-minded reader considers Joyner’s musings with interest, not least for the complex well well-thought-out and thought-provoking arguments which accompany them.
Gleaned for the large part from his most recent social media offerings, ‘Random2 Musings-A Left Hemisphere Continuum’ reflects the most recent topical political and social commentary, with his forays including gun laws, COVID, and the recent political scene.
Launching ahead without fear, Joyner really gets his teeth into underlying issues and makes startling comparisons, forcing his audience to sit up and listen in a bid to encourage thoughtful consideration of the many-faceted and complicated topics he dares to consider. Slipping effortlessly from one theme to another, he keeps his audience engaged and involved, as they compare his strongly enforced opinions to their own.
If your views are similar, you will find yourself whooping with joy at Joyner’s impassioned rhetoric; if you prefer gentler conversation, maybe this book is not for you. However, in amongst his firmly entrenched views are wise and encouraging words focusing on the human condition and the stance each individual chooses to take whilst living it.
Adopting a positive view of life and the enjoyment of moments within our brief existence, Joyner reminds us all of why living is such an exhilarating rush, and invites our consideration of the many things, large and small, that we can be grateful for. Random2 Musings – A Left Hemisphere Continuum is highly recommended.
