The BookViral Review:

A taut and edgy thriller Julian D Parrott’s Of Love and Honour proves to be a genuine pageturner and one that’s sure to get noticed by avid readers of the Thriller and Crime Fiction genres with its slick stylized plot and relentless forward momentum.

Thrillers and Crime Fiction are by necessity plot-driven driven and writing a Crime Fiction or Thriller novel isn’t easy. New authors often find themselves juggling so many intricate plot threads that they become irrevocably tangled but Parrott weaves his narrative with genuine flair with Of Love and Honour being one of those novels where you’ll want to linger in the detail.

A sure sign of a bestseller the forward momentum is relentless as former soldier Tom and resurgent British actress Nia find themselves once again drawn into a web spun by the covert agencies of the United Kingdom, Russia and the USA.

With well-conceived backstories and nicely nuanced dialogue that brings the intensity of Tom and Nia’s relationship to the fore Of Love and Honour is credible and devoid of the typical cliché-riddled plots with which the genre seems overrun with Parrott leveraging his plot to deliver a satisfyingly gripping and edgy novel.

Avoiding the pitfalls of dull, trope-laden fiction he brings fresh emotional weight to the genre with a level of immediacy which is sadly often lacking. On this level, Parrott delves into the dark gritty side of covert security services the world over and does a splendid job of establishing mood and characters to have readers perching on the edge of their seats! Not knowing who is to be trusted and wondering how Tom and Nia will emerge emotionally and physically unscathed as a decades-old vendetta and converging plot lines come crashing together.

A smart, well-written Thriller Of Love and Honour is Parrott’s second novel featuring Tom and Nia in a series that has huge potential. It is highly recommended!
